In kannada there is a proverb that says ” Hoovina Jote Naaru Swargakke Seritu’ ., that means ”Along with the flowers ( in a garland), the thread also made its way to heaven”. Here, the flowers refer to the Doctors, the thread refers to, whoever helps the doctor, even in the smallest possible way, and the heaven refers to the heart of the ailing patient.
From the moment ‘the mother to be’ enters our Hospital we make sure that she will have the most pleasant experience. Right from the front office people, to the doctors assistants, the Housekeeping…know HER by name and her condition. It’s the sweetest thing to see sharing their joy with the new parents, helping the new mother walk, feed, give the baby the first oil bath…
That’s why, Doctor is the God who gives a new lease of life and those helping the doctors have the greatest satisfaction of being a part of it
While on rounds, I see mothers with tears of joy, and a few with tears of pain-for having delivered a girl child. When I feel I can do nothing to help them understand, how lucky they are to have a girl child, all I do is just hold the baby girl in my arms with all the love and say ‘Bless u Putta!..May you be the strongest spirit Ever‘
